Digital Heritage Lab
Preserving Our Past
Innovating Our Future
About
The Digital Heritage Lab is a teaching and research lab affiliated with the Global China Studies and the Center for Global Asia at NYU Shanghai. It serves as both a virtual and physical hub that connects faculty, students, and researchers at NYU Shanghai who are interested in studying, critically analyzing, and creating innovative projects on cultural heritage sites in China and Asia.
Starting in the fall of 2023, the Digital Heritage Lab will have a physical space on our Qiantan campus, where all NYU Shanghai students and faculty can meet for teachings and discussions on topics related to cultural heritage in Asia. They may also use the space and equipment in the lab to develop digital and conservation projects and exhibit the final products they create in the Lab. A small reading corner is created for people to browse the Lab faculty’s own book collections and publications.
